Hardik Pandya led India to a 1-0 victory in the rain-shortened T20I series, but Shikhar Dhawan will now take India’s squad into the three-match ODI series against New Zealand.
The Indian squad, captained by Shikhar Dhawan, will square off against the New Zealand team at Eden Park on Friday, November 25, following a commanding 1-0 victory in the T20I series.
The first game of the three-match T20 series was postponed due to rain, and India trounced the New Zealand squad by 65 runs in the second game. However, in the third and final game, rain again fell, and this game was also abandoned after the first inning.
For the Indian squad, this series is crucial in preparation for the ODI World Cup in 2019. Shikhar Dhawan, a southpaw, will serve as captain for the first game of the ODI series.
Shikhar Dhawan has been in exceptional form this season, scoring 567 runs in 16 games at an average of 40.50, which places him first among the team’s leading run scorers.
With 530 runs in 9 matches at an average of 75.72 and a strike rate of 107.50, Shubman Gill is the second-highest run-scorer. Iyer has hit 486 runs at an average of 60.75 and a strike rate of 95.48.
Tom Latham, a left-handed hitter, is the second-best batter in the league with 413 runs scored in 12 games this season at a strike rate of 92.39, while starter Allen, who played with a strike rate of 93.05 and scored 308 runs in 8 games in 2022, is the third-best batter.
