After facing a few odd moments in the T20 match, team Chennai registered a convincing victory against team Kolkata on 26 September 2021. With the brilliant innings of the Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad team, Chennai got a great kickstart by a 74 runs partnership from these openers. Faf du Plessis scored 45 runs in 30 balls, and Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 40 runs in 28 balls. Moeen Ali also contributed 32 runs in 28 balls. Team Kolkata’s Innings
KKR captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and opted to bat first. However, team Chennai’s bowlers disappointed the Kolkata opening pair in the powerplay. Kolkata lost the early wicket in the form of Shubman Gill (9) and Venkatesh Iyer (18). Shubman Gill was run out and Venkatesh was caught by Shardul Thakur behind the wickets.
