In the second leg of the Indian T20 league, all the non-performing teams are in good form. Bangalore again faced defeat from Chennai on the 24th of September. Let’s take a look at the match report and highlights of the Banglore vs Chennai T20 match. 

Chennai team has gained their old confidence again in the 14th season of the while Bangalore is trying to overcome the past matches defeat. Bangalore’s poorest performance was against team Kolkata where they could score only 92 runs due to the drawback of their middle-order batsman. Against Chennai, Bangalore started their innings very well, and at one point, they were at 111 for after the 13th over. However, the team and it with frequent dismissals and could score only 156 runs after losing 6 wickets. Therefore again, they had to face defeat by Chennai. 

Team Chennai was on the right track as Faf du Plessis, and Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 72 runs in 8.2 overs. At one time, the Chennai batsman struggled against the spin bowlers of Bangalore; however, Ambati Rayudu then contributed his quick 34 runs before the captain MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina to make the team less stressed. 

Yesterday’s victory not only took Chennai to the top of the but also provided them with a great position to enter into playoffs. Their 2020 disappointment is now completely gone, and they are in their full form.

Team Bangalore innings 

The captain of the team Bangalore  was looking in the attacking form since the start. He started hitting big shots from ball 1 and hit 2 to boundaries back to the back of Deepak Chahar. Deepak was struggling with his swinging with the new ball, and Kohli took advantage of it. His new bowling partner, Josh Hazlewood, delivered hard lengths, which made the ball skid, and thus, it troubles the batsman to go for the big shots. However, team Bangalore’s batsman Devdutt Padikkal got a great way A to B along with Captain Virat Kohli E, and they both scored 55 runs for the first wickets in the powerplay.  

Devdutt Padikkal and Captain gave the team a great start, which stayed till the 12th over, and the team crossed 100 runs without any loss. Both batsmen hit their half-centuries and took the partnership to 111 runs. However, Dwayne Bravo took the wicket of Virat Kohli at his personal score of 53 runs. In the 17th over, Shardul Thakur gave Bangalore two big blows in the form of AB de Villiers and Devdutt Padikkal. De Villiers could score only 12 runs, while Devdutt Padikkal’s innings ended up after scoring 70 runs for the team. After these two dismissals, Tim David came to the crease and could only score one run, and he was dismissed by Deepak Chahar. Glenn Maxwell scored 11 runs for the team and got out in the hands of Dwayne Bravo. Bravo also took Harshal Patel’s wicket; Patel got about after scoring only 3 runs.  

Team Chennai innings 

While chasing the target of 156 runs, Chennai completed their innings after losing four wickets. In for team Chennai’s Rituraj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis started the innings well with 38 and 31 runs each. Ambati Rayudu also played a crucial inning for team Chennai, and he contributed 32 runs to the victory of the team. Suresh Raina and captain MS Dhoni scored 17 and 11 runs each to finish their innings in 18.1 overs.  

Chennai’s first wicket was fell in the form of Rituraj Gaikwad in Yuzvendra Chahal’s ball, and he has scored 38 runs. After Rituraj Gaikwad, Glenn Maxwell, and Faf du Plessis (31) to the pavilion.

Gaikwad and du Plessis had a great partnership of 71 runs for the first wicket. After this, Harshal Patel got the wicket of Moeen Ali caught by Captain after scoring 23 runs. Harshal Patel also got Ambati Rayudu (32 runs) at the hands of AB de Villiers.
