Rohit & Ishant set to miss Australia vs India Test series

2020: Rohit & Ishant have been ruled out

and Ishant Sharma are reportedly in danger of missing the upcoming Test series in Australia as they are unlikely to board a flight in the coming two to three days. Additionally, there’s still no communication from the National Academy or the BCCI to the team management about their availability for the tour. 

Team India may face a big setback before the series against Australia. Indian team openers and Ishant Sharma may be out of the first 2 Tests. According to website Cric Info, there has been a doubt about his playing in the last 2 Tests as well. Now it will depend on the decision of the BCCI. 

Rohit was not part of Team India’s One-Day and T20 team due to injury. He was included in the Test team. While Ishant Sharma was being monitored by the medical team of the board for the test.

According to recent reports, the team management and selectors are looking to add Shreyas Iyer to the squad. A regular member of the white-ball set-up, Iyer has 4592 First-Class runs to his name in 54 games at an average of 52.18. He has 12 centuries and 23 half-centuries to his name and the DC skipper has been a part of the red-ball squad in the past. He was called in as a cover for the injured Virat Kohli during the 2017 home series against Australia,

Coach Ravi Shastri about the status of Rohit and Ishant’s availability. 

“If you need to play in the Test series or any red-ball cricket, you’ve got to be on the flight in the next three or four days. If you aren’t, then it’s going to be tough,” Shastri told ABC Sport on Sunday. 

Team India has to play four test matches in Australia Team India has to play three ODIs and three T20 matches as well as four Test matches in Australia. The first Test will start in Adelaide on December 17, it will be India’s first day-night test abroad.
